According to local officials, near an oil and industrial center in Tatarstan, Russia, a drone hit a tree next to parked cars, killing two civilians and injuring fourteen others in the city of Nizhnekamsk.

The city has Russia's largest cluster of refineries and petrochemical plants.

Ukraine's Defense Intelligence Directorate (DIU) also claimed that its drones attacked a major refinery overnight in Slavyansk-on-Kuban in Russia's Krasnodar region.

Russia's Defense Ministry said on Sunday that Russian forces shot down 389 Ukrainian drones overnight.

On the other hand, Ukrainian authorities reported intense Russian drone attacks on the Black Sea port of Odesa and fires near a border crossing with Poland.

Serhii Lysak, head of the Odesa Military Administration, said the large-scale Russian nighttime attack injured at least nine people.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha warned in a post on social platform X that this is Putin's terrorism directly knocking on the doors of the EU and NATO.

Ukraine's Air Force said its air defense systems shot down or suppressed 409 Russian drones overnight, noting that Russia launched a total of 453 drones.

Kremlin Open to Restarting Peace Talks in Autumn Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Sunday that Moscow is open to restarting peace talks involving Russia, Ukraine, and the United States in the autumn, and noted that October is not ruled out.

Last weekend, U.S. envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff held talks with Putin in Moscow, then met with Zelenskyy in Kyiv.
